5 Tipps gegen trockene Winterhaut

5 tips for dry winter skin

Cold, wind, and dry air from heating: The cold season can take its toll on our skin. Those who already suffer from dry skin will notice it even more acutely in the winter months. Combination or oily skin also often becomes drier in winter. The skin feels tight, red, or even flaky. But with the right skin care, your skin will stay velvety soft even in wind and weather. We'll show you how!

1. Clean, but please gently

When cleansing your face, use only gentle, pH-neutral cleansing products and avoid harsh cleansers containing fragrances, dyes, or preservatives. These can further irritate the skin and worsen the problem. Avoid harsh rubbing or harsh exfoliating products when cleansing. The goal is to cleanse the skin as gently as possible and keep the skin barrier intact. To achieve this, it's essential not to further remove moisture or sebum (the skin's natural oil). Our Gentle Oil Cleanser is a particularly gentle cleansing oil that's especially great for dry and sensitive skin. It gently cleanses the skin without disrupting the skin barrier. When combined with water, the oil cleanser forms a light emulsion and thoroughly removes dirt, sebum, and makeup. Afterwards, your skin feels silky soft and wonderfully refreshed.

2. Moisturize your skin

After cleansing, it's the best time to restore intensive moisture to the skin. This works best with highly concentrated serums, as they are enriched with effective moisturizers. Our Hyaluronic Acid Serum, for example, with its high concentration of hyaluronic acid, is ideal. This penetrates deep into the skin, forms moisture reserves, and ensures that the skin retains moisture for a long time.

3. Integrate valuable oils into your routine

Moisture is wonderful and important! However, a serum isn't enough for dry skin; it also requires a rich moisturizer with valuable oils to sustainably strengthen the skin barrier and lock in moisture. Pure oils or blends (e.g., our Face Oil) or rich care creams containing a carefully balanced blend of moisturizers and oils (e.g., Vitamin C Cream or Cell Repair ) are suitable.

4. Avoid hot showers or baths

Showers or baths that are too hot can damage the skin's barrier and further aggravate dry skin. A lukewarm shower – even just every other day – with temperatures between 32 and 36 degrees Celsius is better. Important: After showering, moisturize your body with a rich body cream or soothing oil (e.g., our Body Lotion).

5. Drink enough water

We've all heard it many times, but this tip is proven to be one of the best for keeping your skin healthy and vibrant: Drink at least 2 liters of water every day. With adequate hydration, your skin will be able to maintain its protective barrier. This allows it to retain moisture better and, at the same time, better protect itself against harmful environmental influences.
