Skin condition: Mature skin
This is how skin changes with age
As we age, the complexion of our skin also changes – a completely natural process. Fine lines and wrinkles appear around the eyes, around the mouth and on the forehead. As the skin loses moisture with age, the complexion appears increasingly pale and dry.
The skin also loses its elasticity and resilience. Depending on how much sun the skin has been exposed to over the course of a lifetime, pigment spots (also known as age spots) form more frequently.
causes
With age, cell renewal slows down and the skin's own protective function weakens. The production of the protective sebum (skin fat) decreases, so that the skin dries out more quickly. The skin's own production of collagen and elastin also decreases, so that the skin loses its firmness and elasticity.
In women, there is also the hormone factor. Hormonal changes during menopause can cause skin to become thinner, drier and more sensitive. Hyperpigmentation (age spots) occurs because the melanin cannot be degraded as well due to the weaker blood circulation and the reduced exchange of substances.
What a beautiful thought that a person's life experience leaves its mark on the skin! For us, it's not about erasing the signs of the times. However, with the right care consisting of moisture, antioxidants and collagen-stimulating active ingredient combinations, we can slow down the skin aging process. As we age, our skin becomes a little more demanding, making it all the more important to treat it to intensive and nourishing care.
We want you to find the best skin care for you in every phase of your life - tailored to your individual needs.
