Double cleansing: Perhaps you've already heard of this popular cleansing method? If you dream of deeply clean, even, and radiant skin, then the double cleansing method is exactly what you need! Because sometimes two is better than one. We'll explain how this two-step facial cleansing process works and which products are suitable for it.
What is double cleansing?
The two-step method has its origins in Korean skincare, a pioneer and innovator in beauty. The theory: Makeup, sebum, sweat, and dirt must first be removed from the skin before it can be deeply cleansed. Because only when the skin is truly clean can it effectively absorb the active ingredients of serums and face creams.
Double cleansing involves using two different cleansing products one after the other. This ensures a particularly thorough cleanse and ideally prepares the skin for subsequent care.
Your evening skincare ritual:
This method is especially recommended in the evening, as facial cleansing is a bit more difficult then. Oil-based residues like sunscreen, makeup, sweat, and dirt (e.g., fine dust) cling stubbornly to the skin and must be thoroughly removed. And let's be honest: Such an extensive evening beauty ritual is also good for the soul, right? Taking a little time for yourself after a long day and washing all traces of the day off your face... simply a wonderful feeling!
And this is how it works:

Step 1 of facial cleansing: cleansing oil
Wait a minute…removing oil with oil? That's exactly right! Oil-based residues like sebum, makeup, or sunscreen can be removed perfectly with oil-based cleansers, as they bind them together particularly well. Cleansing oils, such as our DAYTOX have the advantage of being particularly gentle on the skin and also providing moisture. Due to their moisturizing effect, a cleansing oil helps keep the skin's protective barrier intact.
Another plus: Our Gentle Oil Cleanser is formulated to form a gentle emulsion with water. Unlike pure oils, the product can be easily washed off without leaving a greasy film on the skin.

Step 2 of facial cleansing: cleansing foam, cleansing gel or cleansing milk
With double cleansing, the assumption is that the first step removes all residues from the skin. The second step is to truly cleanse the skin down to the pores. A water-based cleanser, such as a cleansing foam, cleansing gel, or cleansing milk, is best suited for this. Our Cleansing Foam, for example, is ideal. After the first step has dissolved all residues and opened the pores, the second cleanser can now completely remove the last dirt particles and dead skin cells. The skin is then cleansed down to the pores – the best prerequisite for the active ingredients of the following care products to be absorbed well and develop their effects even more effectively.
Who is double cleansing suitable for?
Generally for everyone! The two-phase model is suitable for all skin types. It's important that the products are well-matched to your skin type. People who regularly wear sunscreen and makeup will especially benefit from this cleansing method.
Do you have oily skin and are wondering if a cleansing oil might be too much for your skin? Don't worry, oil-based cleansing products are actually particularly good at removing oily substances. Thanks to modern formulations, they don't leave a greasy film on the skin, making them ideal for combination and oily skin.
Do you want to expand your facial cleansing routine?
Then complement your facial cleansing routine with the DAYTOX Enzyme Peeling and the DAYTOX Facial Toner. Use the peeling 2-3 times a week to leave your skin feeling silky soft. The Facial Toner balances the skin's pH, moisturizes, and refreshes. A particularly beneficial feature: The toner prepares the skin for subsequent skincare, allowing the active ingredients to be absorbed better and develop their full potential. Tip: Leave the toner on your skin before applying your serum. Most serums absorb much better on slightly damp skin!
