Did you know that you can increase the effectiveness of your skincare products many times over if you follow the ideal order in your daily routine? Beauty professionals are surely already familiar with this concept as " skincare layering ." This involves layering different products that complement and support each other. The pioneers of this technique are the Koreans, who apply up to 10 different products one after the other in their "Korean Skincare Routine." But it doesn't have to be that many in everyday life. We'll show you the basics of skincare layering and the correct order in which you should apply your products.

Step 1: The right preparation
A thorough cleansing routine is essential for your subsequent skincare to be absorbed and work effectively. Without cleansing , serums or creams can eventually roll off. Dirt and excess sebum remain on the skin and can lead to blemishes and pimples. A gentle cleansing gel like our Cleansing Foam, a cleansing milk, or a cleansing oil is ideal.
Step 2: A balancing toner
A toner regulates your skin's pH and provides additional moisture. It has a very fluid texture and is therefore absorbed particularly quickly. Many toners, including our own Facial Tonic, contain nourishing or soothing ingredients like panthenol or hyaluronic acid. The toner also refreshes your skin and prepares it to better absorb the active ingredients of the serum that follows. You can imagine the principle like a sponge: It absorbs more water when it's already slightly moistened. Our skin can also absorb moisture better when it's already slightly moistened.
Step 3: A high-dose serum
High-dose serums are enriched with intensive , powerful active ingredients that give your skin a real boost. The effect can vary greatly depending on the serum and its ingredients. A hyaluronic serum like our Hyaluron Serum provides intensive moisture with hyaluronic acid. It penetrates deep into the skin, where it can unfold its full effect. A serum with retinol (e.g., our Retinol Serum) smooths your skin and prevents imperfections, while a vitamin C serum brightens your complexion with antioxidant vitamin C. It's best to apply your serum to damp skin, ideally after your toner, as recommended. This helps seal the surface water into the skin.
Step 4: A rich cream or oil
To prevent your intensive serums from evaporating, it's important to seal in the active ingredients with a cream at the end of your application, such as our Daily Hydration. This protects the skin barrier and retains moisture in your skin for a longer time. For dry skin, we also recommend an optional facial oil, such as our rich Facial Oil. This can either be added to your face cream with 1-2 drops or applied to the entire face in a separate step. Find out for yourself what works best for your skin.
Tip: Always apply your skincare products from the lightest to the richest consistency. Follow the toner with a serum, then a cream or facial oil, depending on your skin's needs.
